On September 16, the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Fine Arts and Design College and the 30th-anniversary development conference for the art major were grandly held at the Water Conservancy Lecture Hall on the South Campus of Jiangyang Road. President Ding Jianning attended and delivered a speech, and the Secretary of the College Party Committee, Li Xiangyang, presided over the meeting.

　　In his speech, Ding Jianning warmly congratulated the successful convening of the college development conference on behalf of the university and extended a sincere welcome to all the guests and alumni attending the conference. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the individuals from various sectors of society and the alumni who have long been concerned about and supported the development of the college. He highly affirmed the achievements of the Fine Arts and Design College over 33 years in teaching and research, talent cultivation, discipline construction, and social services. He hoped that the college could seize this development conference as an opportunity, grasp new development opportunities, further consolidate its strength, strengthen internal construction, and achieve greater accomplishments.

　　Dean Li Mei presented the college's development report, covering four aspects: an overview of the college's development, research achievements, practical teaching, and future prospects.

　　The founder of our college's first major, Architectural Decoration Engineering, Wu Longsheng, and the founders of the Art Department and the Art Major, as well as the former party secretary of the School of Arts at Yangzhou University, Xu Chen, delivered speeches. They all expressed gratification towards the current development of the Fine Arts and Design College and the achievements of the alumni.

　　Feng Jialiang, Dean of the School of Fine Arts at Nanjing Normal University, as a representative of sister universities, congratulated the Fine Arts and Design College. He mentioned that the Fine Arts and Design College at Yangzhou University has achieved remarkable results in the fields of art and design and has been recognized by the education community and society. In the future, the two colleges will strengthen communication, learn from each other, and contribute new and greater strength to the cause of art education in the new era together.

　　Li Peichao, President of the Suzhou Alumni Association of our college, and Director and Joint President of Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co., Ltd., made a speech on behalf of the alumni who made donations. He expressed deep gratitude for the nurturing from the alma mater and was honored to contribute to the development of the college. He also looked forward to deepening cooperation and communication with the alma mater in the future.

　　Three alumni representatives, Wang Xun, Wang Xuefeng, and Mi Yueying, gave speeches, reviewing their experiences during their studies, sharing their recent career developments, and expressing good wishes for the development of the alma mater.

　　Finally, Ding Jianning, Wu Longsheng, Xu Chenyou, Li Xiangyang, Li Mei, Li Peichao, and Wang Xuefeng took the stage together to participate in the college's ceremony to start a new journey.

　　During the conference, the promotional video The Thirties: Embrace Youth and Set Off Again was played, showcasing the development of the college. Alumni donation videos were also played, evoking fond memories among the alumni present. After the conference, the college held separate forums for the art and design majors, and nine outstanding alumni delivered excellent presentations to all faculty and students.

　　More than 500 people attended the event, including Yan Changjie, Director of the Academic Affairs Office (Teacher (teaching) Development Center, Teacher Education Office, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute) of Yangzhou University, and Chen Keqin, Director of the External Liaison Office of Yangzhou University (Alumni Association, Board of Directors, and Education Foundation Office). Also in attendance were leaders and colleagues who had previously worked at the college, alumni from all over the country, leaders from sister universities, retired teachers of the college, and current faculty and students. Together, they extended their best wishes to the College of Fine Arts and Design for a happy birthday.

　　In the prime of our college's thirties, let's set off together. Standing at a new historical starting point, all faculty and students of our college will bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping's earnest entrustment of “optimize combinations and transform compounds”. We will uphold the school motto of “Perseverance and Self-reliance”, continuously striving to “move upward, do good, and pursue beauty”. Our relentless efforts are aimed at building our college into a high-level research-oriented College of Fine Arts and Design that is leading within the province, first-class nationwide, and distinctive in its characteristics.

　　Our college holds an alumni donation ceremony

　　In May 2023, an alumnus from the Class of 1996, Luan Yu, donated to the renovation project of the Faculty Club of the Fine Arts and Design College.

　　In July 2023, an alumnus from the Class of 2005, Zhu Youting, donated a landscape project "Time Belt" to the college.

　　In August 2023, alumni from the Class of 1993, Lu Chongming, Shen Ming, and Shen Rui, donated the sculpture "Tree of Time" to the college on behalf of the whole class.

　　In September 2023, an alumnus from the Class of 1997, Ding Gang, donated a set of books titled Lyu Fengzi Complete Works of Fine Arts edited by him to the college.
